Terms of Service

Effective June 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Stomped mobile and web applications (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Stomped ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use Stomped

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm your parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms.

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Activity on your account is treated as yours, so don't share your password.

2. How you can use the Service

We license you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use. That's it — no rights to redistribute, relicense, resell, reverse-engineer, or scrape the app or its data, except where required by law.

You agree not to:

We may remove content, or suspend or terminate access, for violations.

3. Your data

You own your data, and you keep ownership of the content you create. We store the data you produce — such as tiles, neighborhoods, cities, friendships, saved-tile photos and notes, your display name, day-streaks, and diagnostic and usage events — under your account, subject to the Privacy Policy. You grant us the limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free rights needed to operate the Service — to store, host, back up, reproduce, and display your content (including saved-tile photos and notes), sync it across your devices, and surface the parts friends are allowed to see (see Privacy Policy §4). We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't sell it. You confirm you have the right to upload and share anything you add — for example, that a photo is yours to post and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings. Deletion permanently removes the data associated with your account and can't be reversed; anonymous, aggregate statistics that can't be linked back to you may be retained.

4. Our availability and changes

We do our best to keep the Service running, but we don't guarantee uptime. We may update the app, change features, add or remove functionality, or discontinue the Service at any time. When changes are material, we'll try to give notice — usually via an in-app update or a note on our website.

5. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Supabase (auth + database), Mapbox (map tiles + geocoding), Apple (Universal Links), Railway (web hosting), Postmark (email delivery), and Google Analytics (traffic measurement on our public website only). Your use of those services through Stomped is subject to their own terms. See our Privacy Policy for the full list and what each service receives and why.

6. Disclaimer

Stomped is a walking tracker, not a safety device. Use common sense about your surroundings. We are not responsible for decisions you make while walking or for any hazards you encounter.

7. Limitation of liability

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those places, the limits apply to the extent allowed.

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Settings screen (Delete My Account).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we believe pose a security or legal risk, or that have been inactive long enough to be reasonably considered abandoned. If we terminate your account, we'll give notice where reasonably possible.

When your account ends — whether you delete it or we terminate it — your license to use the Service stops and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Effective" date above. For material changes, we'll show a notice in the app next time you open it. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

11. General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest of the Terms stay in full force (severability). These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and supersede any prior understandings. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours — for example, in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Sections 3, 6, 7, 10, and this Section 11 survive termination of your account.
